Cura not working on Second run after choosing printer

Hello, I've a strange thing happening....windows 7 32 bit.

(Have tried cura 15.04.02 and 15.04 for windows and Windows 7 64 bit)

I run cura, choose my printer (Printrbot simple metal) the program runs and I can print. I shut down cura and restart it, and it does not recognize that there is a printer anymore.

I delete the .cura config directory in my home dir, go through the initialization and it works until I restart again.

Any ideas? I've reflashed my printer, but it didn't make a difference. How do I clear the EEPROM?

The problem started when I unplugged the printer in the middle of a print that jammed.

I think this has to do with the weird way USB ports are handled in Windows. This is one of the reasons why we recommend to not print with USB.
