Issues with OpenSCAD

Hi all

I am running Linux Mint 13 with Cinnamon desktop. When I start OpenSCAD (the "official" version that came from the Mint software centre) I lose the icons along my bottom status bar - which I can live with, but every time I go to save a new design I have created OpenSCAD hangs. Has anyone seen this behaviour before and is there a fix?

Get the latest version from source. Because most likely the package is outdated. There where quite a few bugs in older OpenSCAD versions.

I've not had this particular issue with OpenSCAD / Cinnamon, but I have had other window / icon issues with Cinnamon on Mint 13. To resolve the missing icons try restarting cinnamon by right clicking on your taskbar, select troubleshooting, and restart cinnamon. As for OpenSCAD freezing, I can only suggest following Daid's advice and getting the latest version.

I had issues with pre-packaged bonaries on my Ubuntu laptop too. Compiling it myself fixed the problem.
