What software are you using in order to edit STL files?

Hi guys,

I've just start learning solidworks 2016, and i havn't found any tutorial about editing an stl file. Any solidworks specialist here?

Perhaps there are also some other ways to edit, what are you using?

I edit STLs all the time with 3d studio max. Any mesh based system will work. (not that it's easy, but possible) Blender can do it and it's free. Most others can import but have a lot of functions disabled due to the fact that it's not a solid when it comes in.
