You probably have a negative value for where it should touch the build plate.
In 15.04 I believe this is in advanced. For the latest version of Cura you can move your model up and down using the arrows after selecting your model. You should be able to just drag it up onto your plate

What Cura-version are you using?
You probably have a negative value for where it should touch the build plate.
