Hi Guys,

At random our ultimaker 2+ has been failing prints. Could you please let me know if anyone has seen this before and what we can try to stop it.

Material is HD Glass

Just another failure we have also had was in the infill zone.

Outer shell is perfect but infill / support is tragic.

It looks like the z-platform doesn't lower correctly at those times causing under extrusion.

Is the height where these happen the same in all prints ?

you could clean the leadscrew and reapply some grease

    Hi,

No its happening at random points in 3 different print parts

That's one of the things that can happen if what @xeno proposes is the problem.

    Also what's the room temperature?

Printer has an enclosed top and door, maintains around 30C inside the build volume.

What's the temperature below the printer? I would try to remove the white plastic cover of the board so it gets more ventilation, since the stepper chips might overheat on that ambient temps and produce skips on the movements.

If you don't want to mess with the plastic cover just add a fan below the printer to keep the board from overheat.
