Was using Matter Control before and it gave me the option to configure my printer to extrude 2 loops 6mm from my object before starting to print the object.

What is the best way to go about setting something similar up in Cura?

    This is called skirt. You can find it and it's settings under build plate adhesion.

    Skirt distance is that 6mm you mentioned and line count is how many times around your object.
