Material on print head aluminum coupling plate

Hello!

I have noticed that my UM2+ is starting to underextrude a bit. It only underextrudes from time to time, and I believe I have isolated the cause to the PTFE coupler. However, I have also noticed some black material on top of the printhead coupling plate/under the hot end isolator, and am wondering if it is due to the PTFE couple degradation or causing a clog?

Thank you in advance!
