Model not on the print bed

I am running Cura 2.5.0 and have the preference of "Automatically drop models to the build plate" turned on.

I have a file with 4 separate STL models in a single file, but all of them are aligned to the same base plane.

When I enable supports, Cura places 4 layers of supports under all of the models. To fix this, I turned off supports, and modified the file to put my own supports in the CAD drawing.

When I brought that file into Cura, it aligns my model such that about 10 layers are under the build plate.

I have to go into Preferences, and turn the Auto Drop setting off, then move the model by hand, and hope I have the bottom correctly aligned with the build plate.

Am I doing something wrong, or is this a problem in the software?

I noticed that during my modeling and such that the pivot point plays a very important part in the process. I have even gone into my 3D package, just moved the point off and then back into place and it worked properly. Dunno why. Cura seems to be very finicky about it.

    Hi,

When you look in layer view you have nothing from the model that is touching the build plate? Might be a problem with the model

Correct, but when I turn off supports, it drops to the correct position. If the Model file had a problem, that would not occur, correct?

Kinda hard to tell without an image or file to look at.
