Getting a smooth surface for a surface plate

Dear all,

For our students I am printing a larger quantity of PLA plates (with some text,...). As I have to produce quite a lot I go for draft Quality with 0,2 mm per layer to save time. This is total sufficient Overall, but espacially for the Surface itself I would like to get a higher Quality, as it Looks like rough.

1) the "ironing" function of cura 3.1 doesn't seem to help. I have 4 small prisms that stand on top of the plate (to fix a print) and it seams that only the Surface of this 4 tiny prisms is ironde, but the big plate 3 mm below is still very rough. I would have hoped that this Setting works for every upper border/Shell of the printed Modell an not only he highest layer number

2) I have see that there is a function for adaptive layer strenth in the latest Version ... nevertheless reading the description I see that I have absolutly no direct controll which layer strenght will be used by cura, so I is not predictable if this will help me.

So what I am looking/hoping for.

- Is there a Chance for a futuere version that a user Can define a layer thikness for a range of layers instead of Overall? For my example it would be great if I coud e.g. say: Layer 1 to 30 = Layer strengh 0,2, layer 31 to 33 = Layer strength 0,05 mm, 34 to end Layer strenght = 0,2

- Is there a Chance to Change the "ironing" function, where the heated up Extruder is moved over the Surface without adding Filament that every upper Surface layer is ironed and not only the highes layer number?

thanks and best regards

Michael
