how do i use extensions like the barbarian extension

I can tell you how the barbarian plugin works, but other plugins work differently. Some plugins (like the Barbarian plugin) add an entry in the Extensions menu. The Barbarian plugin adds a menu item "Extensions -> Barbarian plugin -> Convert to metric". You select an object that was imported in inches and use that menu option to scale it up.

Note that this thread is specifically about the list of plugins listed in the opening post, for the beta of Cura 4.0. Your post would have been more appropriate as its own thread.

Where is the Extensions Menu in Cura 4.0.0?

I’ll just quote myself, from a couple of replies above this:

Between the Settings and the Preferences menu. In the same menubar as File, Edit and View.

    Thanks ahoeben,

    Now I found it.

But for some reason under Ubuntu Gnome the menu bar does not look like it is part of the application, may be because of the large Cura logo band just below the menu bar is overwhelming it. See attached image586710431_Screenshotfrom2019-05-1914-31-58.png.0c2de22c08e8e02c725b8eff23f1d008.png

I spent two day looking for a way to access the Extensions Menu but did not see the menu bar in spite of it is in front of me.

Thanks anyway for your quick response.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
