Posted · Cuar 4.4.1 PRINTING SUPPORTS LAYING ON NOTHING?

Hi, i am new on 3D printing, but I cannot understand how suport structures can stand if they do not lay on anything, but air. Throwing everything away after 9 hours of printing is not a good experience, did I wrong anything? aany help will be appreciated and hope this post can be useful for other. In the attached file some screenshots of the sliced model and cura settings for support structures.

Posted · Cuar 4.4.1 PRINTING SUPPORTS LAYING ON NOTHING?

I'm having this issue also. I've been printing for years using Cura and this is the first time I've encountered this problem. I just recently updated to 4.4.0 last week and loaded in a large file that would take 5+ days to print when I noticed going into day 2 that it was printing stuff OVER AIR. The oozed out filament had nowhere to adhere to so when it moved to the next point in the print it started to build up spaghetti.  I went back to the slicer to see if I was imagining things and there it was.. hanging in mid-air to start printing was a tiny island.. two days into the print. Wth? Any idea why this is happening? I've attached a screen shot of the sliced model and my settings. Hopefully there's a fix for this that I've missed.
