Tree Support recommendations to prevent mini breakage on removal

I am having issues using tree supports with miniatures that have thin ankles. The tree supports are printing all around the mini and I am having a very hard time removing them. This is causing me to frequently snap the base off of the mini at the ankle. What settings should I be tweaking to make the supports easier to remove? I was using the Ender 3 profile from fat dragon games for minis with the layers depth set to 0.08, and the default tree support settings.
