S5 Firmware Update Errors (5.3.10.xx)

Posted · S5 Firmware Update Errors (5.3.10.xx)

I unpacked an S5 yesterday and saw that the firmware was out of date ( vs the most current version (5.5.12). I tried to update the software using a USB key as described on the Ultimaker S5 help page  but the update process was unsuccessful - after restarting, the printer displays an error message that the software installation was unsuccessful, and suggests a power cycle. I don't get any specific error code. I've tried three different downloads and thumb drives, including the one shipped with the unit.

When I try and install the software update on the device itself, I see a blank screen after tapping the "software version" button, and have no option to upgrade.

In the web interface, the most recent software version is listed as "" and I therefore have no option to upgrade:

Is this a known error? What steps can I do to upgrade my unit?

Through this post I would like to further explain what we are doing, and what you could be doing.
Our efforts consist of 2 layers. First; connect medical institutions and hospitals to (local) 3D Printing hubs to help them print parts of which a 3D model already exists. And second, contribute to design the necessary part and then have it printed via a (local) 3D printing hub. Experts are available from within Ultimaker and from within our network of 3D printing experts.
