Posted · Anycubic I3 Mega filament feeder motor runs in reverse only

I have a Anycubic I3 Mega and print regularly with it. I was at work the other day watching my webcam linked to the camera when the filament feeder started to back feed the filament from the machine. I immediately shut the machine off with Alexa but when I arrived home there was an abundance of filament that had been ejected from the machine can any help with what would cause this issue the feed motor is brand new. Any help would be greatly appreciated. BTY I am using Cura as my slicing software.
