Model Below Build Plate and Beyond Build Volume

I am trying to print a model of a dog but I only want the head. What I've done in the past for similar prints is to just drop the part of the print I don't want to below the print bed and it prints only what's above. I wanted to do the same thing here but my problem is, I increased the size of the model so the dog head would be bigger but the total size of the dog body exceeds the build volume limit.

I've tried looking online for solutions, whether it be a way to ignore the volume limits or a way to cut off or ignore whatever is below the build plate. But I found no solutions. Any suggestions?829616091_LowPolyFrenchiePrintbuildvolumelimit.thumb.png.377d9d8ab50418f1b620f55859cc707a.png

I guess the build volume check is independently from what is printable. So the calculation is done on the whole object regardless what is really above your build plate.

I would cut the model to get only the head.

Do you have a recommendation for cutting it?

Personally I do everything in fusion 360 which is probably a bit oversized but you can use mesh mixer or blender.

Thanks! I ended up trying out mesh mixer and it was super easy!
