Manual filament extrusion

Hello,

I'm a newbie. Just starting with Cura 4.7.1.

Is there any way to manually extrude a section of filament to make sure it is not stuck/clogged and has good flow before starting a print. I have searched the archives as well as looked within the program but find nothing. My machine has no such option (inventone/makerone).

Thanks for your kind help and excuse my ignorance on the matter.

Best,

darren

It's very helpful if you mention the printer brand.

On the Ender I just release the pressure foot on the extruder and give the filament a nice firm push.  25mm usually is enough to guarantee a color change (except for white of course).  There are also motion controls on the LCD and the extruder is one of them.
