Prime tower height + not retracting when swapping extruder Cura 4.12

Hi all

I have a heavy modified CR10 with dual extruders on a single nozzle on a MKS Tinybee board.

In my start code, the head is lifted. When I enable the prime tower, the head is no longer lowered and hence prints in thin air. I tried disabling the prime tower to see if this makes a different but then the filament is not retracted (resulting in a crackling extruder). I am using Cura 4.12 with a custom profile based on the original CR10.

Am I missing a setting?

Kind regards
