UM Original. Heater Block not heating.

I've had no problems with my Ultimaker Original until now.

When I go to print, the temperature remains at 23C (in Cura). I don't think it's a problem with the temperature gauge as when I try to touch the heating block (to test if it is hot) it is stone cold.

Any ideas, anyone?

Thanks

Disconnect the 2 heater cables from the 2 green terminal blocks and measure the resistance of the heater element with a multimeter: you should measure something very close to 9 Ohm... if you get 9Ohm, your heater is ok, and the problem is something else. if you don't get 9 ohm, the heater or the cables to the heater have a problem.
