Posted · Video that shows how to align the axles? - UM S5

In the maintenance schedule for the S-line printers, one of the items is to check for play in the axles. There is a little bit of play in my Y axle, and tightening the pulleys didn't clear it. I'd like to try (re)aligning the axles, but I'm having difficulty comprehending the written instructions.

Does anyone know of a video that covers this? Search engines aren't turning one up for me.

If you have already confirmed the pulleys are secured, its possible the belts need replaced.

Maybe you can share a video of what you are seeing on your machine?

As the OP suggested a video would be adviced or, at least, a revision of the instructions. I've tried to follow your manual (2024) and instructions are all but clear. Pictures do not match steps. And some phrases are difficult to understant, at least for a foreigner.

I need to agree with @CarlesCC, instructions are horrible, have used most part of my day trouble shooting why the prints suddenly began to lose quality.

Did you check the videos offered by Fbrc8?

Sure, I wonder why there are no official videos like that. We used the one for replacing the belts. That channel is a must if you have an ultimaker.

Nevertheless for regular maintainance I think its better to have a printed manual with steps and instructions at your side: to be sure to forget nothing and you followed all required steps. Thats something a video isn't as good at.
