I wish Ultimaker Cura allowed you to change the color of the filament

I am a sixth grade science teacher and we currently have over 500 students design and 3D print every year. I am always printing in different colors and it can be hard to keep track of what color is in which slot unless you have the ultimaker filament. Would it be possible for Cura to create an update that allowed you to change the color of the extruder that would then change it before the slice? This would really help me especially when merging two colors. Thank you!

You cannot change the color of the default generic material, but you can make duplicates of the generic PLA, and then change the color of those duplicates (and change the name to eg  "Red PLA" etc)
