Posted · How to INSTALL Cura 5.3.0 on Ubuntu 22.10 Linux?

I am running Ubuntu v22.10 Linux. I would like to INSTALL Cura 5.3.0 into my system.

I know I can download the AppImage file for Cura 5.3.0 and just double click it in my Downloads folder to run it, but how do I INSTALL it so that it appears in my launcher/applications list?

The best I can get from the Snap store is Cura 4.13.0.

    Hi Calab,

I use the AppImage file, as you mentioned, and I create a launcher that points to the AppImage file.  As I use quite a few applications this way I have a local "Apps" directory that keeps them in one place (instead of being mixed-in with other downloaded files).  Remember to change the permissions on the image file (allow to execute) before trying to use it.

You can get more information about launchers here, or goggle for other ideas.

    Regards,Glenn
