Cura 5.3.0 Crashes on Startup - Adding Printer

Wonder if anyone can offer some advice.

I've got Cura 5.3.0 running on an old machine that I need to replace, so I've picked up a laptop Windows 10 Pro 22H2, i5 8500T, 16GB RAM and trying to get Cura installed and running.

Whenever I launch Cura on the laptop, it takes me through the User Agreement and crashes when trying to add a printer as I try to scroll through the list - log file shows:

023-04-05 14:02:47,198 - DEBUG - [MainThread] UM.View.GL.ShaderProgram.load [61]: Loading [C:\Program Files\UltiMaker Cura 5.3.0\share\cura\resources\shaders\xray.shader]...
2023-04-05 14:02:52,991 - INFO - [MainThread] cura.CuraApplication.writeToLog [619]: User accepted the User-Agreement.
2023-04-05 14:03:04,074 - WARNING - [MainThread] UM.Qt.QtApplication.__onQmlWarning [444]: file:///C:/Program Files/UltiMaker Cura 5.3.0/share/cura/resources/qml/WelcomePages/AddLocalPrinterScrollView.qml:237:25: Unable to assign QString to QRegularExpression

Windows is fully patched and up to date, as are the device drivers.

I've uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled but the issue persists at the same point in the printer selection process.

Any suggestions how to resolve this?

Thanks in advance!

Hi.  I had exactly the same problem when selecting my printer from the drop down list. Cura would install ok and let me choose the printer manufacturer (Geeetech in my case) but then when I clicked on the model (A20) the programme just crashed and shut down. In the end I got around it by selecting an earlier model from the drop down (A10) and then it started fine and has been working without any issues since. Hope that helps.
