Hi,

My instance of Cura 5.4.0 for Windows started acting up. It does not boot anymore and gets stuck at "Loading preferences...".

I get Cura to boot as an administrator, which unfortunately disables some features.

Any idea how to fix this?

Many thanks in advance!

    Try renaming cura.cfg in C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\cura\5.4\ to cura.cfg.bak.

This helped initially, however Cura started the setting up process every time after booting.

I deinstalled Cura 5.4, deleted all data in AppData\Roaming\cura\, including data from old Cura versions. Afterwards I reinstalled Cura and restored an old profile. This fixed it!

It looks like somehow Cura was not allowed access to write to its configuration folder. This could be a result of launching Cura "as administrator" in the past. Best not to do that.
