Anyone know why these edges slice differently? this is the same model and same slicer (cura 5.4.0). only difference is i switched printer profiles from my ender 3, to my ultimaker s3.

The enders profile is the one that slices correctly(pic below). These imperfections do show up in the model when printed on the S3

this issue does not present itself in cura 4.13

    I appreciate your reply.

Totally understandable, happy to provide more info about my settings, although Im not exactly sure how I could share them all? do you know of a good way to do so?

horizontal hole expansion is already set to zero.

To clarify the issue, I have highlighted it in the picture below.
Its the layer lines that dont follow the model. it seems the print head is taking a shortcut around the corners of the model. This is just the original "benchy" test model.

Whenever I slice this model in cura when my ender 3 is selected as the printer, it slices normally.

However, it does not slice normally when I switch the printer to my ultimaker s3.

Still using all the "recommended" print profiles (engineering .15) for the s3 since I cannot get it to print without issues for the life of me.

This printer is brand new and Im just trying to get my first test prints out of it.

Also having severe ghosting, under extrusion, and bridging issues with it, however I want to ensure that the slicer isn't causing some of those issues. I have already used no less than a quarter of the included ultimaker pla spool attempting to get it to yield a nice print with almost no avail. (my other thread linked below)

I see that you own an S5, are these common issues with the ultimaker S series?

    Use File -> Save project...

A project contains the model and your settings; an exported model only contains the model (geometry).

I don't fully understand why exactly, but lowering the `Maximum Resolution` setting (under `Mesh Fixes`) to 0.2 or lower seems to fix the issue.

See https://github.com/Ghostkeeper/SettingsGuide/blob/48b3c7902c6401cf43fffd14795947c74cd02275/resources/articles/meshfix/meshfix_maximum_deviation.md for more information about the setting

    interesting,

I will do more research on this topic.

Thank you! I really appreciate your help, I would have never known to look for that setting.

Do you think lowering this value might also help some of the other issues I was having with the printer?

I really cannot answer that question, because I don't know what other issues you were having with the printer.

Sorry, here is the link to a separate support thread I started prior to this one, inquiring about other the other issues.

To my knowledge, neither of these issues are related to the Maximum Resolution setting.
