Posted · Material cannot pass through decoupler for extruder 2

I’m trying to run calibration on the print heads for my ultimaker s5 with material station. The material for extruder 2 feeds fine until it reaches the decoupler. I can see the material run through the lower Bowden tube until it reaches some point within the decoupler and then it hits something and the machine immediately throws out an error. I have no idea what’s going on here. I’m fairly certain the Bowden tubes are all attached properly, and the whole contraption doesn’t look different from the perfectly functioning decoupler for extruder 1.

the material can retract from this point fine so it’s not getting stuck. It just seems to push out this little bit that clamps onto the Bowden tube all the way and then hits something solid and can’t go any farther.

What firmware are you running? The reason I ask is because that error has been phased out.  So I recommend updating your firmware.

Take a look at this article ER56 - Printer feeder filament pickup unsuccessful (ultimaker.com)

Now that probably won't resolve the main issue but it may throw a new error code.

I don't see PVA in your material station but have you printed with PVA before? It likes to break in the decouplers sometimes.

In this article, you will see a diagram. Is your decoupler extended or not extended? The material failed to load wizard (ultimaker.com)
