Option to remove automatic added filaments

Posted · Option to remove automatic added filaments

I have used Cura for ages now and am very happy with it, only thing is that when I go to materials there are tons of materials (brands that I will never use, just because of the fact that I almost buy one or some more filaments on which I had good results.

Now when I want to choose a filament I own or use I am lost in whatever long list there is ( and yes I know you can make the favorites show first)

Secondly the vast list takes up memory and space I guess when browsing the list, which BTW is getting larger by the day.

Is there anyway I can remove all not wanted filaments and brand ?

Thanks for responding in advance 🙂

If you install the Startup Optimiser plugin (available from the Marketplace inside Cura, though you may need to log out in Cura before you can install that plugin), you can use the option to "Load only 'generic' and custom materials" option. Then restart, and all the branded materials will be gone.

Edit: with @Alain_D's screenshot, and my description, you should be able to figure it out 😉
