Hi!

I want to do to following procedure (have a reprap printer with dual extruder head).

When switching to an extruder, do a custom g-code thing.

IMPORTANT - Different g-code for each extruder.. is it possible to do with CURA software?

Thanks!

AFAIK there is no custom extruder swap gcode in Cura up to now. But the behaviour you describe might be implemented in Cura in future, when the new GUI is released.

I guess (from the way your question is asked) you know Slic3r; there you have the extruder swap gcode.

    Thanks,

Indeed in Slic3r there's an extruder swap gcode, thing is that even there it's the same g-code for both extruders (no way to define custom g-code for each extruder).

I wonder how difficult it would be to create a plug-in that will support it in Cura.

You can most certainly do this from a plugin (just search for the T0 and T1 and add your own pre/post codes there)

In the future I'm planning to support this in the machine configuration of the new GUI. (holy shit, this new GUI is a lot of work. It's finally starting to get some shape. But the whole machine configuration dialogs are missing at the moment)

But you would have to hard-code the swap code into the plugin...there is no alphanumeric input up to now...right?
