Posted · UM2 Prints impressions

I was contacted a couple of weeks ago by someone from South Africa asking to print a few examples on UM2, as he wanted to see the quality before buying the printer itself.

Sadly, he couldn't find anyone closer to him than me (in Israel). However, a colleague of mine was travelling to South Africa just at the right time, so the shipment was timely delivered.

So, this is what was sent, in addition of the cuddling cats (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:241748), as a surprise bonus:

Now, please see the mail I got in reply (with the author's permission, of course):

Was just about to send you a mail :) Just received the prints a few minutes ago, and we were suitably blown away! Quality is exceptional (that screw thread is practically flawless) -- even for the lower quality prints; and I was pleasantly surprised at the addition of the cat prints (thanks!).

I think you have quite convincingly made the argument for the Ultimaker 2, so it’s definitely on my shopping list in the near future! :)

Thanks again for everything, it is greatly appreciated!

Admit, this worth every bit of the effort and the hassle that were made to organize the timely prints and the logistics!

It would be about second or third person making the buying decision after seeing my UM2 or consulting with me. Shall I ask the UM for a commission? :)

Keep up good work UM!
