Are you referring to the blue out line of the model?
I think it's to show the extremities of the model whilst you are analyzing the layers for printing.

Please don't take offense...note the arrow and question mark on the left side.

I see 3.1 is out, very nice.
Two requests....
1) As asked before, could you please add an Import Simply3D Profile into Cura? The FFF file is a simple text file and would save a LOT of time for people wanting to try Cura. Otherwise, it's a long journey if comparing and checking off settings within Cura's vast Settings page. Please and Thank You.
2) I'm not sure what to call it but what's that reflective shine/rings that the models show up with in Layer view? It's just very annoying.

Well @SandervG I can suggest a place to chat Ultimaker while you are down
When is the event kicking off?
-
So when ordering a Glass plate is important to ask the reseller the ship date of the stock glass and to avoid old stock.
I see Fabrc8 is out of stock, I need to see who else in the USA stocks it.

Sad, no comments from Ultimaker

IF THE FORUM TAKES A LONG TIME TO LOAD...
This is happening to people with roughly 1000 posts and higher. It is searching through your personal database of posts apparently. For some reason. For me of course it's not just slow - it never loads as I have way more than 1000 posts. The workaround is to not enter the forum the way you usually do it. Find a new way. Personally I have a direct link. Another work around mentioned above is to logout, then go to forum, find a topic, then log back in. Not recommended. Another workaround is to wait for the new forum.
Wow, well that isn't the sort of achievement anyone wants!

Sounds good, I'm really curious if IPBoard can import this forum data into their product. Fingers crossed!
-
Correct...so come on, Ultimaker...how about some holiday cheer? We've been paying a premium for your filaments and printers, how about showing us some love!
-
Yeah, like that's fun!
I think it would be really neat if Ultimaker ran some sales/discounts every now and then!
-
C'mon, Ultimaker...where's the deals?

Correct but I didn't alter any of that...

Well I declined removing the old versions you see, only upgrading 3...I would have thought it would have placed 3.0.4 under Cura?
-
I did the 3.0.3 to 3.0.4 upgrade on my other laptop, opting to not uninstall previous versions.
Mind you, I had 3.0.3 working fine, accessible via the Start - Cura - Cura 3.0.3 before.
Now since 3.0.4 has been installed, there is no listing at all.
I have to use the Windows 10 "search" feature and type in "Cura 3" and then i can launch the program.
What's up?

I'm not a fan of the NFC tag, it made all the Ultimaker brand filaments more expensive (about $11-$12 more per spool than ColorFabb PLA).
The Ultimaker 3 has seen a ton of development and improvement over the past year. New products can have issues and I can name other printers, from low end to high end, that have had growing pains and evolved into a solid product.
I agree with your point about S3D. The user community is quick to offer advice about profiles and which work best. I don't know off hand if there is one there for the UM3, have you asked on S3D's support forum?
I truly enjoyed my time with the Ultimaker 3's. I really wish I had one now that more advances have been made in Cura. Changes in how much PVA is used for support and many other things would be nice to try out!
I do hope you are able to get great use out of your Ultimaker 3. It's a great machine.

I had two Ultimaker 3’s for six weeks, loaners for a comic con
I had none of these issues you describe.
I don’t understand why you feel Ultimaker should include an S3D profile? Cura has been extensively redesigned for extremely integrated operability with the UM3
I have no problem faulting Ultimaker for real problems. But this is starting to turn into a beat down session that really lacks some merit.
I mean the door enclosure? For prints that needed it, I taped cardboard to the front. Simple fix for me.

Just to play devil's advocate...does the S3D gcode print fine via USB?
-
Ha.... IRC Chat....soooo 1998....!
Please, let's move forward, not backwards

I've been able to get in and post....but as always ...it's the horrible 45 second pauses/loading stuff that makes me give up and browse elsewhere.
-
But tell us the Cons of OnShape...there's a lot

It's great for $20 tho....read the details!

That's a neat graph
I've used SolidWorks Academic ($20 per year for military veterans) and it can do quite a bit. I found some decent tutorials on YouTube and Lynda.com
I did not know they offered that. I will have to check that out. Thanks for mentioning that!!
They make you jump through a few hoops (DD forms) but you get the latest and greatest. Being Academic there are a lot of things that won't work but still, you get quite a bit
-
But could you afford it
The challenge is on them to put something on the market at a good price point

Yes, here it is....

I understand it wouldn't be a 100% match, based on how frequently Cura updates versus S3D. But it would be very convenient option. Perhaps telling the user what fields it could not match and left alone?
