G1 F3000 X20 Y20 Z20 ; Bring extruder to the front slowly
G28
ran it to printer how can I tell or not?? if the E steps worked is it print and see ???

Glad you got it sorted don't know why you had the problems, when you set the steps how did you do it. Just so I know, I'm going to upload tinkGnomes latest firmware and set steps/mm

Thanks a bit bemused at moment why this has to be done given I downloaded a modded firmware.
But that is me and my learning curve is still developing, no doubt it will enlighten me.
Thank you

The Gcode is one file which you sort of tell the printer to print - it just changes the filament print rate and thats it, you just execute once and it writes the new parameter into the firmware of the UM2
the two lines are below:-
M92 E492.45
M500
you can just copy them to a file and give it a GCODE file type - job done
stu_le_brew
thanks for this I created gcode file with the two lines of code and printed it is that it...

thanks for this while I have just finished installing I'm confused I asked Bondtech if I had to change the steppes millimetre page 11 in there Manual and I was under the impression that if I downloaded there firmware I didn't..
have you done anything like they suggested ???

I asked that specific Question to Bondtech and the answer I got back was download there firmware which is your moded ?? then no need for the Gcode, I have done a print out it seemed good

chuck
I don't use cura so my help is limited was it working before you fitted the Bondtech
-
Bondtech
Fitted you extruder and your firmware all is working ran a couple of files through to compare it worked I think my S3d setting need to be changed
1. my flow needs to be reduced for first layer because the Bondtech has more power first layer is now quiet full.
2 My retractions speed need to be adjusted set at 2500.0 mm/min do you have any suggestions for this one??
-
chuck
yes you are correct I have just fitted the Bondtech I use S3D and it is fine (ish) I was under the impression the Hex File was moded already from TinkerGnomes Firmware.

sorry to say it but you found the week link in the machine, I would tighten the tension hold your breath till the new extruder arrives, you will be less frustrated in the end. It is an issue and it is well documented. I had my machine for 2 years and it was documented then. I hear the new feeder is much better, I found to help with this problem is to increase the heat carefully and slower your print.
sorry to be a bit gloomy but your problems is what I have had for months.
Good Luck

bondtech
thanks for this at least there is options. I will let you know how I get on..
Neotko
Agree with your sentiments and I think I will experiment, when it arrives, which I am greatly looking forward to.

I usually wait till the material is purged then I have a wire that I use to wrap said material and then pull it away..

have a look in the software forum under s3d I think my start up script is there if not I post it hear for you its not the best but it has served me well over the last 16 months.

Bondtech
will download your firmware when Parcel arrives, I have been playing with TinkerGnomes 16.01 Love it..

can't agree with you more, I thought the same it is actually a benefit for the motor to skip instead of pushing material through, I hope that this can be overcome, or i have just swapped a pain in the Axxx for a more serious problem. Don't like the idea of thread Lock, also the 3dSolex Steel Coupler thread has a lot more slop than the original UM Version, if the Steel coupler is tighter in the thread this might also make a differenced. Was going to Ask 3dSolex if this was or is possible I might just have a bad one.

Hi
yes I use S3D along with others I Like it, I would urge caution when using your new machine based on my experience which was very bad. On Delivery a wire was Jammed under the Micro switch causing the head to crash into plate. Make sure they are All Clear of Obstructions.
Then Good to Go.
