  1. I assume that Cura ignores these settings during the calculation of the estimated print time - so don't worry about this. Do you have pictures of the failed attempts? First you should try to print with a nozzle temperature as low as possible and with the fans on 100%. And you can try to fiddle about the "Cool" section in the "Expert config" Dialog - especially read the hints for "Minimum speed" and "Cool head lift". Additionally the possible results for those tiny parts are often depending on the print material... Good luck and keep us informed!
  2. Yes, of course. Plain sailing. Works exactly like you suggested:
  3. I have tried both alternative fan supports. Using the Ultimaker 2 fan mount - DUAL (like darkdvd does) i had to reduce the max. fan speed to 40% or else the nozzle temperature was falling down by more than 10 degrees, when the fans came up... I am also using the Fan Base UM2 at the moment (like gpp01) and i switched back the max. fan speed to its normal settings (100%) without any problem. IMHO the direction of the ventilation fits better with the derivative variant - nevertheless i still dont't like the huge logo... ;-) BTW: i printed it with Formfutura FlexiFil - although i could not find any informations about the glass transition temperature - it seems very temperature resitant so far (much better than the colorfabb XT i used before).
  4. If you use this alternative fan mount, the overall fan speed should drastically reduced - as suggested in the comments on YM. But this is not related to the version of the firmware. If i remember correctly, some defaults for the PID have changed recently? I wonder, if there could be unwanted (side-) effects because of this in some configurations...?
  5. Oooookkkkey, i got the point... ...and i willingly agree. Thanks for your elaborated statements. Just to clarify - i think the project is well served in your hands... Everything at the proper time, we stand by.... And now: Shoo! Back to work - you have deadlines...
  6. At the thought of Cura and Open Source... Maybe i missed that topic..., but: What about the possibility to involve the "development power" of the community? Would some assistance push the project - or would it just be a huge effort to coordinate the additiional "ressources"? What's your ultimake ultimate opinion? ^_^
