  1. Got it! I will try once the nozzle is ready. Thanks a lot!
  2. Thank you Labern. I will try a smaller nozzle later. Now I generally use 0.4 nozzle with the 0.1 layer height. Is there a suitable layer height for each different nozzle to achieve a good result? For example the 0.05 is good for 0.25 nozzle and the 0.2 is good for 0.8 nozzle.
  3. Now I am using Ultimaker 2, I am just want to know where can I get a new OLSSON BLOCK. I want to buy a new one on line. Thanks in advance!
  4. I am new in 3d printing. Now I am just using a 0.4mm nozzle which is fine for some nomal model. But if I print some more detailed models such as the Eiffel Tower. The result is not satisfied. There are many thin parts in it. So I am curious whether a smaller nozzle (0.25) can make a good result for it.
  5. Actually, it does not often break. But it is really aggravating :( . Since it is impossible to wait beside the printer all the time until the printing is finish, so I am thinking whether there is a way to pause the printing ASAP when the filament is broken.
  6. Since I always print some large models which is time cosuming. But unfortunately the filament is broken today, so I have to print again. I just wonder is there some methods to prevent the filament from broken.
  7. BTW, for the image I paste above, I just lay it flat and print, the final result is very poor...
  8. Today I try printing a bridge which is very complex. In this bridge, I add many supports. Also some parts are too thin. So I am not sure how to print this type of model by ultimaker2. I also want to print a Eiffel Tower, but I am afraid the final model will not be satisfied, for there are too many thin parts in it. How to set the parameters of cura if I want to print it? Thank you!
  9. Firstly Thank you tinkergnome for the answer. I just notice that sometimes the lcd cannot show the logo correctly, not each time, the image cannot be fully shown in the lcd occasionally .Also there is image Dithering sometimes. So I look into the firmware and try finding the reason. I did not change the firmware. I guess if the code is correct, maybe there is a problem with my lcd screen. Not sure whether my thought is correct.
  10. thank you for the answer. I already set the top layer to 6. I will have a look at your link. Maybe there are some more issues during my printing.
  11. thank you for the answer. I already set the top layer to 6. I will have a look at your link.
  12. When the machine is power on each time, we can always see that there is a large logo “Ultimaker” on the LCD screen. I just have a look at the firmware and find that it is programmed through a so long code as following. I am just a little curious why the long code indicate the big logo. What code is it? const uint8_t ultimakerTextGfx[] PROGMEM = { 128, 21, //size 0x6,0x6,0x6,0x6,0xfe,0xfe,0xfe,0xfe,0xfc,0x0,0x0,0x0,0x0,0x0,0x0,0x0, 0xfc,0xfe,0xfe,0xfe,0xfc,0x0,0x0,0x0,0xe,0xfe,0xfe,0xfe,0xfe,0x0,0x0,0xe0, 0xfc,0xfe,0xfe,0xfc,0xe0,0xe0,0x0,0x0,0x0,0xce,0xce,0xce,0x0,0x0,0x0,0xc0, 0xc0,0xc0,0xc0,0xc0,0xc0,0x80,0x0,0x0,0x0,0x0,0x0,0x0,0x80,0xc0,0xc0,0x80, 0x0,0x0,0x0,0x0,0x0,0x0,0x80,0x80,0xc0,0xc0,0xc0,0xc0,0xc0,0xc0,0xc0,0x80, 0x80,0x0,0x0,0x0,0x0,0x6,0xfe,0xfe,0xfe,0xfe,0x0,0x0,0x0,0x0,0x80,0xc0, 0xc0,0xc0,0x0,0x0,0x0,0x0,0x0,0x0,0x80,0x80,0xc0,0xc0,0xc0,0x80,0x80,0x80, 0x0,0x0,0x0,0x0,0xc0,0xc0,0xc0,0xc0,0x0,0x80,0xc0,0xc0,0xc0,0xc0,0x80,0x0,……………………………………
  13. Sometimes I print modules with large top layer. To make the top layer flat, I set the bottom/top thickness as 0.1mm, the bottom layer is very smooth, but the final model is not very satisfied. Is it possible to make the last layer smooth as the bottom layer after change some parameters of cura?
  14. Hi Labern, One more question.:)I look into the circuit diagram of the mainboard v2.1.4. I found the big change is that the 5v small fan is under the control of the microprocessor. Also there are some resistors added to the output of the A4988, right? I am a little curious what is the reason of it? Besides these 2 differences, there seems no big change between the v2.1.4 and the v2.1.1. is that correct?
  15. In this folder Ultimaker2Go/1546/1546 ultimainboard V2.1.4 electronics, right?
  16. I see. Thank you Labern. Then where can I find the circuit diagram, I want to have a look at the 5v fan connection.
  17. I am using the ultimaker2 and I found the mainboad version is V2.1.1. From the diagram, I found that the small fan is connedcted to 5v power directly. So it is not under the control of the microprocessor. So how to make it turns off when it cools down to 40deg. There is a update for the mainboad after V2.1.1 , right?
  18. Yes, I found that the motor , the hot end, the hot bed and the PWM fan can stop working when the printing finish, but the 5v fan working all the time. So I am not sure whether it is ok for this fan work for a so long time. Thanks, Vincent
  19. Very happy to see your quick answer again. I have found the setting on my machine. Thanks again! Thanks, Vincent
  20. Thanks for your long explaination. It is really helpful. You just mentioned that you can have it switch off after a set time. So how to do this? Does the ultimaker support this function or need I modify the firmware? I just do not want the machine power on all the time until I turn off it. Thanks a lot! Thanks, Vincent
  21. Hi , I am a beginner of the ultimaker. From the circuit diagram of the ultimaker mainboad, I notice that the PWM fan and the PWM led use the voltage VCC/2. So what is the value of VCC/2? Thanks, Vincent
  22. Hi, Now I am using ultimaker 2 to print some large models, so the printing time is very long. I am just curious whether this machine support shut down automatically. Then I can leave it printing instaead of waiting until it finish. Thanks, Vincent
  23. Just a short question of my Cura 15.02.1. I cannot set the temperature of the hot bed as following. So I have to use a fix temperature each time. Did someone hit the same issue as me? Thanks in advance! Thanks, Vincent
