  1. Hi,

I'm having some issues with the zscar, I already try most of the possible combinations with Cura settings and I am continuing having problems as we can see in the image below.

I think the main problem that is causing the issue in the image, is the lack of pressure inside the extruder when it starts extruding the outer wall. Before the outer wall, the extruder does a long travel move, and during this travel move some pressure (filament) goes way from the extruder.

Also this long travel move is strange since the the "Z Seam Aligment" is "Shortest".

After analysing the gcode, I found that the "Rectract Before Outer Wall" setting is not working as we can see in the next image.

What I intent with this setting is to hold the pressure inside the extruder soon after the last extruder path (in the below layer), and then ensure that when it starts extruding (on the next layer) it will not have underextruding issues.

I also found that if the "Retract at Layer Change" is activated the rectration will occur in the same x y position where the outter perimeter will start, this situation contributed again for the loose of the pressure in the extruder.

This two settings "Retract at Layer Change" and "Rectract Before Outer Wall" in order to be more eficiente must happens on the end of the last extruder path (yellow arrowhead in the gcode images).

  2. Hello,

I was doing simple 3D prints (Cura 2.6.2) with a cube (15x15x15mm) and I'm getting strange results when Infill Density is used.

The problem is an overextrussion in the corner of the cube where the Z-Seam occours.

I will put some images where we can see the same model printed with infill and without infill, the results are very diferent.

What could cause this strange problem?

    Thanks

    Edit:

I found that if the Combing Mode is Off, the problem is solved, but the number of retractions increases a lot. This may lead to other problems

  3. This is the initial gcode generated by Cura.

    M190 S60

    M104 S195

    M104 T1 S195

    M109 S195

    M109 T1 S195

My suggestion in order to speed up to reach of the extruders temperatures is to change the M190 to M140, then the bed and the extruders could start to warm up at the same time, it not will be necessary to wait for bed the reaches the desired temperature to start warm up the extruders.

    M140 S60

    M104 S195

    M104 T1 S195

    M190 S60

    M109 S195

    M109 T1 S195

  4. The extruder T1 that will start to extrude, before making the lines in the Prime Tower, goes momentary to the top of the other part made by the T0, and then goes to to Prime Tower. This always happen with both extruders, when there is a extruder change.

    This is really strange.

  5. Maybe a parameter to define the amount of variation of temperature in wich should make a pause.

It's very frustrating that the change of one degree celsius could pause an entire print, everytime the extruder change.

I already tried Prime Tower, and  the nozzle that will start to extrude will always stop on top of the print.

  6. Hello,

I'm having difficulties to do a dual print without pause the extruders because of the temperatures.

The problem is the M109's (during the cgode, not in the start gcode) before the change of an extruder.

It's normal the extruders temperatures flutuate some degrees celcious, and because of that and with the implementation of M109, every time extruder change a pause will occour.

Already change the Initial and Final Printing, but the problem is the same, now all temperatures are set to 195ºC.

BTW, the extruder pause on top of the model.

How can I solve this situation?

Cura 2.6.2 and helloBEEprusa 3D Printer

    Edit:

I found a post-processing script that could help - Search and Replace. I could replace the M109 for a M104, but it will also replace the M109 in the Start Gcode, so this is not the solution.

This plug-in should only affect the generated gcode, and not the Start and End gcode.

  7. Hi,

Where is located the button to send gcode to Octoprint? And how to configure Cura with Octoprint API information, port, etc?

I already selected "Octoprint connection" in Plugins Preferences.

    Tks

  8. Hi,

I think the option Automatically drop models to the build plate is not working correctly.

I intend to reinforce some subparts of a main part by changing the infill density, but when I import the subparts they stay alligned in the center (2nd image), and not on the correct place (1st image).

Basically I want to do something like this instructables, but now in Cura.

This is what appened in Cura

  9. The "Brim only on the Outside" function is not working in the best way.

Has you can see in the imagens, after selected that option, brim still appears in the inside.

Brim only on the Outside unchecked

    Brim_only_on_Outside_2.thumb.jpg.c60692b4eacf50ae80c00b99f454632e.jpg

Brim only on the Outside checked

    Brim_only_on_Outside.thumb.jpg.eae3e33c6784ea000965933038bf6298.jpg

  10. In this case is at an angle.

As you can see in the imagens, there is a lot of overlapping toolpath extrusion in only one layer, this will cause some problems in the shell of the prints, if I increase the print speeds.

I think if we could uncheck the zigzag extrusion, we could have better prints for higher speeds.
