  1. Hello all, I am relatively new to tuning 3d printers and despite researching possible fixes to my problem I have been unable to fix it. When printing on my Flashforge Dreamer, a direct driver dual extruding printer, I haver been experiencing inconsistent extrusion in my prints and can pin point the cause. Attached is a photos showing the extrusion that I am experiencing, this was a bed leveling print that was a bit too close but the outside edge shows the artifact that I am trying to fix. This extrudsion also happens through the rest of the print but the outside shows it the best. Modification that I have made to my printer that I have made are: adding a glass bed, switching out the hot end, all metal hot end, switching to a stainless steel nozzle. However, all these changes were made before the inconstant extrusion began to occur. I have also flashed the firmware to marlin form Flashforge's original firmware. The inconstant extrusion started after this change so I am pretty sure that this is the cause I just do not what setting would cause this. I also have the original "human word" marlin for the printer, the mother board doesn't seem to be in the marlin library, however I haven't gotten the marlin writer that is in Visual Studio Code tool to compile the marlin script yet. Also attached is a project file for the bed level print as I have seen them being useful for other troubleshooting that I may have missed flashforge bed level test.3MF
  2. Never mind found that when you don't clear them they are saved to the printer until you change them.
  3. I have an idea for a plugin but currently do not feel confident enough to create this plugin on my own. I have not started work on any part of this yet but have found existing plugin wiki that exists and have taken a glance at the different example codes that it has. The idea is as follows: In either the printer settings window and/or somewhere in the print settings adding a area where you can setup and save post-processing scripts. The idea being that they will be saved and will be automatically applied when slicing your g-code but do not have to be entered each time you switch printers. Any help would be appreciated because I really don't know how to approach making this plugin.
  4. I copy and pasted all the related files that it saved from 4.11 into 4.12 and the printer doesn't appear as a printer in Cura, but I get no error messages either. However, I was able to modify the .json files to add a second extruder. I had failed to notice the commas when copy and pasting pieces from working definitions and have gotten my printer to print using Octoprint, I haven't messed with it enough to say whether this is required. Thank you for your help, I did look back at the previous discussions and learned about a different dreamer profile which didn't seem to work for me. It also showed me that I had used too specific of keywords when searching about this issue previously.
  5. I recently switched to using Cura from Slic3r and have been having some difficulties adding my Flashforge Dreamer as a printer. So far I have looked for an existing definition and found Egon's version that he had made for a previous version of Cura. I managed to get their version to work on Cura 4.11 briefly before the 4.12 version came out however after updating the printer definition shoed as corrupted. Since then I have found the Dreamer NX profile to work for my printer but doesn't allow for using my second extruder. I have tried to copy and edit the .json files to allow for adding a second extruder without corrupting the existing Dreamer NX profile that exists in Cura but all my efforts return as the new definitions being 'corrupted.' I have also tried to make a version of the printer as a custom printer but needed to fun several post scripts to tweak the g code when slicing a model in order to change the nozzle temperatures correctly. Can someone help me be able to print with my printer?
