  3. Well Greg i Tried several different ways of getting that print to work.... The staff well not get it done with this machine. At least as i can try. So i switched to a less detailed model. just lost an arm on this one but better. now i need the help to dial it in. and maybe i can actually make just a couple of each to get a good print. 4. Alright i went back to a generic setup and only supports for staff. here is the result. LM2SE05MM_Dwarf Wizard 3.3mf
  5. Thanks Greg ill give those ideas a shot and see how it goes.

  7. Hi, i was hoping to some advice on this print. The white was done in ABS and i cant what settings were used. The black was done in Pla+ for a larger model. Somewhere i really messed up the settings and was wondering if you guys could take a look and see what i was doing wrong... Thank you. Man trying so hard to get a nice print LM2SE05MM_Dwarf Wizard 3.3mf
  8. I've heard of Rhino. AutoCAD would be another learning curve. I was using I forget the software Autofusion was before the big merge. I made a few things for myself. Never to sell. Now you can find a lot of info on 3dprinting . Back when i bought the mini...Hmm 2016. it was sparse. i did a lot of looking and learning. I'm glad things are better now.
  9. Well damn and damn cr scan lizard ill look into and 8k is mind-blowing even with the free shipping. Software to translate is the new learning curve. ive been using netfabb to get rid of the pesky water tight issue on some of the prints. Ideas on software i should be using. Once again, Greg, you're the man.
  10. So i have about 60 to 70 old Christmas Figurines i inherited from my grandmother. what software or machine can i use on the cheap of course so i can turn them into .stl's
  11. So i did a 40% of the dragon and a quick sand and paint with clear coat topping and now you have ugly top have dragon. LOL
  12. Well it came out about what i thought...it is thin and a crack in the neck happened. Stringing as well. ill try it at 40-50%
  13. Just finished printing, and it actually meets the original time given on the slice. i am amazed. Maybe all that tweaking you guys did for me paid off. here is the on bed version. ill let ya know what a denuded one looks like.
  14. I tried to print the Pietà at 30% that took 2.5 hrs and i tried it at .06, with tree support everywhere.... Man, it came out uggllly. so much support that i could not get it broken off. and the print was a worse look then .2mm. so im setting that aside for the moment and took all the great knowledge given here and I am doing my ice dragon at 35%. Another big boy. Ice_Dragon_v2.stl
  15. Yea, the warping is an issue I've come up too. Not sure if watertight will make a difference or maybe less time in the dip... So on this large piece I've decided on .1 mm layer height for now. Just for the time frame.. My little studio is next to the bedroom and the wife is not keen on extra noise at night... now it really is none with the door closed but i have to keep her happy, so no overnight printing atm. I was using ABS before and Vaping it. Had so good success with that but this dipping in acetone is a bit different and getting to a short time in the dip is something ill just learn over time. Thanks again on your input.
  16. Thanks i think i will do that, but a little Rock from my Spotify it should be good.
  17. Thank you for this effort... so i did the 3dprint online thing. I had to laugh $638 to print this. Cura tells me $3 to print this... and it was only 10hr print. Now i forgive me but i need to use some fuzzy math and maybe were talking 16hr real time. that was with a .2 layer. So i dropped it down to the fine setting and keep changes made and it was 11.25hrs. not a bad difference. This is my little workshop at home.
  18. ACK,, it seems i forgot to turn on supports for everywhere and that was quite pricey in time. 14.4 hrs now. Oh well, surely the wife won't mind the noise all night long.
  19. Thanks for the help on the retraction..... I imported the model, and it was only 11.5 hrs... which means in mini speak 20hrs.... i can always 1.5 the given time on splicing to get the real time.
  20. look at this one... ive tried to print it just once at that size and it was 18hr... i am hoping that with this new setup i can get it more manageable and looking nice. pieta.stl
  21. Oh and that last note you sent... G code it seems i have to move the filament down each time before it prints. it retracts way to much and i can sometimes only get a few rounds down before the print starts. ideas?
  22. Finally able to print 2 without stringing and just plain ugly... now i just need a few tweaks and presto Chango magic happens and i sand and paint..... Once again, Thank you to all that may have looked and helped.
  23. So both lefts are the old version i did before you looked at it and the right is after. I did make one change, and that was to make the walls from a 2 to a 3. How you described that it could be seen through just made me cautious. On another note, i would like to clarify that i have some very young nieces and nephews but no grandkids yet ... my daughter is 17 so i got some time. But dad would love to have some before i hit 80. Hahaha
  24. Wow, that is a lot of I don't know what I'm doing...... that's why i needed help. And cheating grandkids is the only way grandpa wins. Haha.... i hope i can show you how this turns out... you might have saved me a ton of changes.. Thank you
  25. This the profile settings if i did this correctly. If you have the time and patience, can you help out an old dog to make a better print. OLD as in over 60+....lol LM2SE05MM_d6.3mf
