Thanks Netko. Sorry I always get confused with the jungle of parts but sorted it.

will order from robotdigg

4x  606mm closed-loop gt2 belt

10x GT2 Pulley 20 Teeth 8mm Bore

2x  202mm 2GT-6 endless belt

2x  UM 20 tooth 2GT pulley 5mm

As the thread said.

But atm my printer dont do perfect circles etc so it may be wrong when I need

new x - y blocks.  only have pla what do u recomend?

And if you mean umo/umo+ belt upgrade (something you haven't clear) then it's 6mm wide, the length it's in the posted link (tooth = length)

    PLA works nice for the side blocks. Read all the posts from that first link. They explain all of it, that's how I learned to do the mod, and works quite nicely.

    Btw that bad circles might mean that you need a belt tensioner. Check the belts, they don't need to be tight, but just not loose. The guy that designed the side blocks has also a small tensioner addon for mxl belts that worked nice for me until I changed all to gt2.

    hm weird after a few prints today I managed to get some better circles. Dunno what happened to the machine.

    Started to experiment in sketchup with rings to fit A 10mm drill axle. First tried 10mm didnt work. Then 11 abit vobbly.  10.5 too small . And finally I thought 10.75 yes its A perfect fit.

    Also first time attempt for me to make something bolt on. And it sits tight. :)

    anyway this is my default tension

    pushes them untill it says stop. Do I need tighten ?

    The best shafts you could get are from Misumi, I bough enough for my 3 machines, they move like silk and they are perfectly straight. Ofc, unless you have a banana shaft, isn't necessary.

    There's a point where too much tension also give problems. I think on ultimaker wiki there was an old article about how should the belts 'sound' to check the correct tension.

    It can't be linked. You need to search (on the link post you have the part name). Also misumi only sells to companies.

    This are the ones I got:

    Sorry, Misumi works that way. A good other option should be IGUS, afaik they sell to everyone and their product should more than just ok.

    Oh lol, I did bough some to IGUS... Well I have a shaft overstock, hopefully someday I'll make a fourth umo...

    This are the part numbers for Igus linear shafts that I got.

    SWMH-08 2,00 15,34 CF53-Welle, 8mm, h7, gehärtet,

    L=337 mm

    SWMH-08 2,00 15,34 CF53-Welle, 8mm, h7, gehärtet,

    L=348 mm

    SWMH-06 2,00

    15,34 steel shaft, 8mm h7 hard- L=267 mm

    Their prices are around 5€ for each one, so it's almost a 40% cheaper than misumi. I have them in a box stored, the only ones I tested are the 6mm hotend x/y thin shafts, they work quite nice and they where perfectly straight, the other shafts I don't know since I didn't even open the box.

    I made a small conversion for the wooden blocks to allow gt2 belts.

    The mxl ones didnt move anywhere so gt2 will definitely be held in place.

    You might want to add 'teeth' to that printed part.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
        (Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

        Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
