Titanium nozzles

Hi, folks!

 

Today I got my first nozzles of a high-strength titanium alloy that is compatible with the E3D extruder ( and a Olssons block, apparently). I would like to conduct large-scale tests, but my ordered filament with carbon and copper will come only after three to four weeks. If anyone is interested to participate in the testing, I can send nozzles to several forum users. Nozzle diameter is 0.4 mm, there are options under 2.85 and 1.75 mm filament.

Sounds great. I would love to test these and compare them against the other hard nozzles I have.

Nice, did you make the nozzles yourself?

Hopefully your filament will arrive fast!

Is the main advantage that it doesn't wear down?

@diettelo About the price thinking it's still early. I want to wait for test results.

@SandervG Yes, the main idea was to increase the life of the nozzle. Now looking for a delivery service that will be able for sane money to send the nozzles to those who agreed to test. DHL asks for some absolutely cosmic level of price ;-( And the filament will go exactly three weeks.

Does it also work with regular PLA, or is it aimed for abrasive materials only?

I wish i could test them but have not the time maybe in a month or so.

Just saw a post, something with the email notifications. On idea nothing hinders to print anything plastic with this nozzle. I tried regular PLА from UM and Colorfabb and Clear XT (old version) and the quality was the same as in a conventional nozzle made from bronze. The only difference is the need for more prolonged heating due to low thermal conductivity. Unfortunately, ABS is also over, so I can't say how it behaves in this case.
