Extruder Stepper motor

Just a question about the stepper motor drivers.

Are the ultimaker electronics running the stepper motor drivers in "voltage mode" or "current mode" ?

Im not really an electronics guy, so have no idea about this.

Current mode. The pots on the drivers adjust the amount of current.

Now final question....

Can the standard UM electronics run this stepper motor, at 5000rpm, at full step mode (so about 2000 steps per

second).

5000rpm is very VERY high for steppers, not sure if those motors are up to that. But I think the electronics could manage it.
