Cura 15.04.6 In layers view model, outer wall somewhere is green

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I have a question in Cura 15.04.6.

In layers view model, outer wall is red color, inner wall is green color.

But I got inner wall color at where was suppose to be outer wall.

and the print seemed to get a additional layer wall in green color place.

After I had got rid of the four sticks at the corners, it became normal.

Could you tell me what happened??

Thanks a lot, everyone.

One more question, Where is bed temperature setting in Cura 15.04.6?

It disappeared with the update.

Have you tried checking it with X-Ray view? The model might have 3D printing errors. Run it through one of the repair services to make sure it's printable. I would suggest that you try https://makeprintable.com/, it's free and automatic. Another option is to check it with meshlab.

reemaj3D, Thanks for your suggestion, :D

it looked fine in cura X-Ray view, makeprintable and netfabb.

I'm not sure how to use meshlab, but it looked fine, too.

Those may be 'reversed faces'. Green colors indicate an inside facing wall.

Reverse faces in Sketchup show up in dark grey. In Meshmixer they show up as striped pink/red faces.

Not sure how other 3d modeling problems show that.

Most times it does not affect the print, Cura can compensate, but you might want to check/fix it anyway.

Designing for light-weight parts is becoming more important, and I’m a firm believer in the need to produce lighter weight, less over-engineered parts for the future. This is for sustainability reasons because we need to be using less raw materials and, in things like transportation, it impacts the energy usage of the product during it’s service life.
