I don't like the idea of information on one topic being fragmented over lots of sites: that makes it a pain to find anything back later on. So, info on Ultimaker stuff would best sit on the Ultimaker site, especially since they are very open to all sorts of discussions. (It would be different if discussing problems and solutions was not allowed, but this is not the case.)

Further, I don't like "Faecesbook". First of all, you can not access the info without logging-in. And if you log in, you make yourself vulnerable to all sorts of data- and identity theft (since that is Faecesbook's business model).

So, I will not join. This is my viewpoint, but of course, you are free to see things differently.

I am going to echo the point of view on a couple of things.

I do not do social media because YOU are the product. And as stated that opens you up to a lot of crap. And the way these companies are starting to hide things every time they update things, it is tough to keep security on your system because you have to reset everything or worse, hunt and delve at all times.

Second thing is that I agree that having Ultimaker/Cura stuff in one location makes it much easier to find things, and easier for the team to be responsive. And, they are very responsive.

Thank you for stating those things. It gets tiring being compared to a Luddite because you do not do what is 'expected', all the while, staying on the true cutting edge of tech in many ways. A common place, that is designed, by fault to be THE repository should be the place to go.

It also frustrates me when job seeking, you are viewed as somewhat of a problem when you really have no social media presence. It is getting that antagonistic. And that I rebel against by nature.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
