I'm not sure but I think it switches color every mm or so of filament which makes the colors come out kind of random. I think red is reserved for outer loops. Only the currently displayed upper 15 layers are shown proper width - layers lower than that show thin lines.
Thin "solidly blue" lines seem to show moves and thin red lines are something else - hops maybe? Anyway the thin lines are where there is no extrusion (with exception of more than 15 layers below currently displayed layer).
