Making copies and keeping them in the build area

I can make copies but they tend to go in a line off the build area. Is there a way to make the copies stay in the bounds when they are created so I don't have to move them manually and waste space.

Cura 2.6 has an auto arrange that tries to position all models inside the build plate. If it cant find a suitable spot, it puts them outside of the build plate.

OK, I upgraded and that worked some. For some reason its not shifting things over. I am trying to print 2in x 2in tiles and when letting it auto arrange it only fits 9. I can move them over and fit 3 more but they are not lined up and I feel that leaves chance for errors in the prints.

The auto arrange is far from perfect. It tries to fit the largest objects in the middle first and then fit the smaller models in the other areas. If you try to print some configuration of objects where the best fit is not to put the first object in the center, it won't ever consider that as an option.

The arrange algorithm that we now have is much better than what we did before, but it's far from perfect. We could improve on it, but as always, it's a resources issue (way to much to do, way to little people to do it with)

I found this a few weeks back. Not had a reason to use it, but kept it bookmarked 'just in case'. It may help you achieve what you need while Cura's is being improved:

Really cool! I would love that the arrangement system would take into account the height of the objects, so when the short ones are finish the travel distance between the objects would be as little as possible. To avoid dripping when moving from a corner to another.

Anyhow, really nice! A nesting solutions on Cura could be great
