Purge before the print does not abort

Posted · Purge before the print does not abort

Hi folks,

I hope all is well with you all.

I am printing silicon using Discov3ry setup and in order to get the print right, we have to use the 'Purge' print first so that the material reaches the nozzle.

But when it is very close to the nozzle, I tend to abort the command and prepare to print the desired.

But for some reason, the 'purge' command does not abort right away. It takes few more minutes to abort.

I am not sure if there is a way to quantify the time used to purging or something can be altered in the gcode.

Let me know what you all think about it.

Thanks,

Abhi

    Hi,

I'm not familliar with the discov3ry setup bu i assume that some of the commands are already sent to the printer and that when you abort these commands can't be withdrawn from the command queue. I'm afraid there's nothing to do in that case (except hard power off of the printer).

I'm not familiar with the software your using either,, but like you said, is there a way you can get into the gcode and set an E value? some distance you can judge and tell it to prime that amount so its all a flowing motion instead of you physically trying to abort.... that will be your best bet or like stated above hard shut off...
