I have been using a $150.00 Anet  A8 for the last 2 years, its a lot of fun making stuff for the house and for kids,I hav no problem making things that stand ALONE such as insects, statues and such, but when I try to make something that gets put together such as belt tensioners, they DONT fit together, I have done all I think I can do with the belts, tighten them up,made a few "S" shaped belt tighteners, tightened and lubed the frame, bars and rods, for one the "H" assembly under the heatbed was upside down, even tho I put it together as the video said, but when I found a few pages on making this cheap printer better, they showed that the video that came with the instructions was wrong,so even after fixing that here is what I come up with from a 10mm cube:averaged out

Z-Axis =9.96

X-Axis=10.13

Y-Axis =10.10

now on a 30mm cube:

Z-axis=19.97

X-axis=20.14

Y-Axis=20:16

99% of the time Print Temp is 190F,and bed temp is 60F.Im at a lostt, but maybe Im expecting far to much from a cheap toy maker.

Thanks

Hi my friend, your problem is not in your belt tightness but in the steps per mm as set by the firmware.  If you haven't already switched to marlin, i would do so and then run print a calibration tool that give you a 100 mm margin ( more accurate for your self) then use the formula at prusa research to recalculate your steps per mm and change them in the firmware and voila dialed in super accurate, and by the way the extruder calibration should always be done hot so you get an accurate setting for the filament you're using.  Get a book and write each filament down and it best temp etc,

    Good Luck and happy printing
