Posted · Strange column added when support activated

Hello,

When I'm configuring my printing in cura, a strange thing happend.

I am on an ultimaker 3 extended and the thing I'm trying to print is in TPU95A. I wanted to generate a support in PVA.
But when I do that, a strange column appears in the corner as you can see on the picture. It's not in the design I want to print

What is that, is it usefull, can I remove it ?

Thank you for your answer

    Hi,

this is the prime tower. It is used to have the nozzle prime some material in between nozzle switches when it alternates between TPU and PVA. You can disable it here:

I think that I would definitely do a set of tests that are controlled to see the difference. Took me a while to be comfortable printing PLA and PVA without a prime tower. But, flexible materials are a different animal.
