Posted · Measuring tool?

Hi, just joined to ask this question. Love the software and figuring it out. Is there a possabilty of adding a measuring tool to the cura slicer? it would be nice to be able to measure 1 or 2 key things and then be able to adjust the scale accordingly.

Btw, great software with so many options

There are already plenty of free software packages that can do this out there. I am in the camp of making Cura as solid as possible without turning it into a hybrid of some sorts. You already get an overall length, width and height of the object in Cura. I would think that should give you scale in its rawest form.

Lol, It doesn't have to be a hybrid. He, I and MANY other people would like a measuring tool to check BEFORE we waste filament. Frankly I think Cura is already a "solid" program ...... other than it doesn't have a way to measure.

I am considering writing a plugin for this.

Clicking on a part of an object will show the x, y and z coordinate at that location. Clicking and dragging to another part of the same model or another model will show the distance between those two points as well as the distances along the axes.

    Anything else?
