Original+ filament clogged near the print head just above the nozzle

Hi,

See the attached photo, it seems like the is extra filament melted there. It also looks like dripping from the side of the nozzle, although it's a brownish looking goo, not silver as the filament..

Do you need to take the head out and clean it? Any suggestions what I should do? The problem I see is that the filament is not feeded through to the head, looks like it's clogged somehow. It works when I use the manual axis movement for the extruder head motor, but during a print, even though the motor and wheel are turning, the filament doesn't move further to the head.

Thank you.

I think your hotend needs cleaning and or re-tightening, both of which you have to take the hoend carriage and hotend itself apart to do... Sorry to say, but back when I reached a similar point with my UMO I wen't for a new hotend instead or trying to fix the old one (I wen't E3D which are great, but there are a few options out there)

Thanks for the info. My hotend is not clogged so it's basically working, the problem that still remains is I have some drippings that appear on the model.

I am reluctant to take everything apart as it was quite complicated putting it together in the first place. I remember like I tigthtened everything nicely, but maybe I didn't 🙂 I'm gonna continue using it like this for a while and see what happens.
