I can't see the layer view anymore with cura. I was able to see it after I first installed but it no longer appears when I click on layers. Other people online have reported the same issue. Is this a know bug? Is there a fix/workaround?

I have win7 64 and cura 13.06.4 and it's fine. I doubt this has anything to do with win7 or 64bit.

Try killing the process steamEngine maybe? Or look at the log file for errors in the cura folder?

Do you get the progress bar when you change a cura parameter?

Give me some credit :) I rebooted and even reinstalled the program. It may have something to do with switching to rostock after rerunning the wizard. Regardless I can't view layers anymore no matter what I do and other people I have talked to on IRC have the same issue.

Hmm. It's probably some of the comments in the start/end gcode. Make sure all those comments are still there maybe?

Also when I have rostock selected it puts the layer preview in the far corner rather than in the center of the bed.

Known bug, I have a fix for it in the next version.

Can you post the contents of your start-code? Maybe it's crashing the gcode reader (not totally unlikely, as there are some bugs in it)

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
