Invalid file error

Hi, Just got my Balco printer which comes with Cura. I can load a .STL file ok, slice it & save it, but if I try to load the resultant GCODE file back into Cura I get the 'Invalid file' message, but I can load the sample GCODE files that come with the machine.

Is this just a settings option I have wrong ?

Version 3.4.1 is quite old now, perhaps the problem has been fixed since then - I know that some changes have been made in that area.

Thanks, I'm just installing version 3.6 now.

 

There doesn't seem to be an option for the Balco printer, does anyone know what the nearest type is from the list of supported printers ?

Did you ever find the answer to this question? Like you I have a Balco and I use 3.4.1 but I have tried 4.1.0 and I can't do it with that version either. I also have version 15.04.03 which I had to use when I first got the printer because the supplied version (3.4.1) didn't work because of my outdated video driver. The odd thing is that 15.-4.3 doesn't give the error but will only show something in Layer mode, the rest of the modes are blank.
