Binaryt vs ASCII *.stl

Is there a reason to export STL's from cad as Binary or ASCII? Is one better than the other? I have been using binary only because that's the default for my cad program.

The only difference I know of is that binary STL's are compressed and thus are smaller filesize.

I don't think ASCII or binary is better or more precise.

Not all programs accept acsii or binary. But most will. If it works, I would use binary, because it greatly reduces file size. (Any tool that doesn't support both is just lazy, because the files are super simple)
